As pointed out by the magazine InStyle, “air-sealed packaging might be great for shipping logistics, but tends to leave a stubborn crease in leather pieces“. Here at Woodland Leathers, we care about customer satisfaction and we are aware that placing our leather jackets in a mailing bag can produce quite a few wrinkles in the leather. So, to help you get rid of even the most stubborn of wrinkles, we have put together a few of the most common solutions below.
Use an alchol and water mixture
Mix one part water with one part alcohol in a spray bottle and lightly mist your jacket.
*A few sprays from a distance are sufficient. Test on a small area first to make sure the colour won’t rub off.
Steam your jacket in the bathroom
Hang your leather jacket up in the bathroom and let the shower steam work its magic.
*Be careful not to hang your jacket too close to the water as the drops will leave water stains.
Iron your jacket under a pillow case
Turn the heat setting the coolest point and place your leather jacket on the ironing board, with a pillow case on top of it.
*Make sure not to keep your iron on the same area for too long.
Finish the process with a leather cream or conditioner. Browse our Leather Care and Cleaning products.
Preventing wrinkles on leather garments is far easier than correcting them, so we advise to regularly moisturise your leather with a protective cream or wax from our Collonil range.
